Adult First Aid/CPR
Upon completion of this course you will received a certificate from the American Red Cross for Adult First Aid/CPR, which is valid for TWO YEARS.

In your job as a PCA you are constantly focusing on the needs of others. So when do you get the chance to give yourself the same loving and kind attention? In this relaxing and rejuvenating session you will learn simple and effective ways of taking care of your needs and reducing your stress (both at work and at home). Come and learn how to incorporate “mindfulness” into all that you do, so that you can maintain your energy throughout the day…along with feeling more calmness and inner peace, too!
NEW! Starting January 2019: BASIC COMPUTER CLASS-4 WEEKS
This is a four-week training course, once a week for two hours at our Hartford computer lab. You will learn to improve your basic computer skills, such as keyboard skills, mouse skills, typing, email and much more! You will also learn how to write a resume!
NEW! Starting in February 2019: In-Home Food Safety Training
In your job as a PCA you may be required to prepare food for you consumer-employer. This training addresses information needed to safely prepare food in the home. You will learn why food safety is important, proper personal hygiene practices while handing food and much more!
CARING FOR PEOPLE WITH ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE-HABILITATION TRAINING – FEBRUARY 2019
In this training you will learn to understand that Alzheimer’s is a disease and that it’s not the usual consequence of the aging step. This training also helps participants learn new approaches to providing care to those individuals with the disease.
These training’s are FREE and VOLUNTARY to all PCA’s that are actively working through either Allied Community Resources or Sunset Shores. To enroll, please call 860-804-4869! SPACE IS LIMITED
Once training sessions are filled, you will be places on a waiting list and will be contacted for the next available session. Each training session must have a minimum of 5 enrollees or the session will be cancelled.
